Lijah loves swinging!

Instead of just taking a walk by the park as we usually do, we decided to go play in the park for the first time.

The only thing Lijah is ready for is the swing at this point, but he sure loves it so far!

I'm standing! On my own!

Lijah's teeth are coming in ever so slooooowly - and taking their sweet time. He still only has two, but I think I feel a bump up on the top so maybe we have another one appearing.....poor little Lijah.

Yesterday Lijah started practicing standing on his own. He stands up against the couch and then lets his hands go and balances for awhile before grabbing the couch again. I can't wait for him to start running around, but that means he'll be getting into even more messes!

Peek a boo!

Lijah's new favorite thing to do is stand at the door and look out the window. It is especially fun for him when the cats are out on the porch, or when cars drive by out on the street.

Speaking of cats.....over the past week Lijah has started to say "kitty cat" when he sees either of the cats. But it actually sounds more like "kee kaa".....

Car accident and playtime.....

3/13/07 - Lijah was in his first car accident..... We were driving home from work on Johnson crossing Lowry. We were trying to pass all the stopped cars and a car turning from the other direction didn't see us coming (or thought they could sneak through) and they hit us. Lijah cried, but as soon as I took him out of his car seat he wanted to play again.

Later that night Astrid came over to play, with her mom of course.....



They are at an age where they will not sit still for a picture together anymore, so we got them together standing at the coffee table.

Sleepy Lijah

Last Saturday we did a photo shoot of little Charlie for the Myers. While Shelly and I were in with Charlie, Jason was talking to David's parents about David's medical history. It was a great time. Lijah, however, thought it would be a good time for a nap!

Since we got the new camera Jason has been taking more pictures of Lijah. Here's an especially cute on. Good job Jason!

Cords Cords Cords

Just like his daddy, Lijah loves cords. He liked this one so much he tried to plug himself in. His favorite cord at this point is the 6-prong plug from his keyboard.

Bye Bye Brian!

Jason's cousin Brian left on February 21st for his mission to Uruguay for 2 years. We wanted to snap a shot of Lijah with him before he left since Lijah will be almost 3 years old when he comes back!

Teeth! Tooth!

Lijah has been teething for quite some time now. Last night I noticed what looked like a hole in his gums and stuck my finger in his mouth. I felt a little razor sharp tooth working its way out!

I can't wait to see all of his pearly whites! Good job Lijah!

Lijah and Astrid

Lijah and Astrid got together again, but this time Lijah was a bit cranky. I think it may have been a combination of his teething and a room-ful of new toys to play with. In one of his happy moments I happened to snap a few shots of them together.

Astrid is starting to move around alot more than Lijah, and Lijah was cranky - so it was hard to get a picture of them together with Lijah not angry!

Apples and Cherries?

Jason gave Lijah apples and prunes the other day - and he hated them. I thought it was the prunes, since he hated straight prunes as well. However, when I tried the apples & cherries he had the same reaction. I think it is the apples....



He also makes this lovely face when I take away his messy teething biscuits!

Working Lijah

Cherie had the day off of work , but had to bring in a cheesecake for someone who had won it at our United Way auction earlier this year. Since our house is sort-of on her way to work, we thought it would be a perfect opportunity for Lijah to come to the office! Here's a few pictures of him hard at work.....

Christmas Eve with the Sherry's

We spent Christmas Eve with the Sherry side of the family. Lijah wore his new little Christmas outfit from Grandma - black dress pants, maroon dress shirt, black dress shoes, a vest, and a tie (clip-on). By the end of the night the shoes and vest were gone and everyone said that he looked like a little man unwinding after a long day at the office...

He took a liking to hanging out on everyone's shoulders!

Jason's cousins Collette and Camille came over just before Christmas to record a few songs for their parents. Jason helped record them singing and playing piano. During a break they got a bit silly with Lijah......

On Saturday (12/23/06), we all got together to take a family picture for Cherie (mom). We had planned to do a picture of Jason, Angie, and Abbie together and then the grandchildren (Dylan, Alyssa, and Lijah) together. It was a bit more difficult than we had anticipated.....out of about 200 pictures of the grandchildren together, all of them had either one kid blurry, one kid looking funny, or one kid out of the picture. We decided to settle for a picture of everyone together.



After this, I think I will stick to candid portraits rather than posed portraits!

Sweet potato!!!



Lijah loves his sweet potatoes....probably because he is sooooooo sweet himself!

On Monday (12/11/06), Rossi and Astrid came over to visit and play. At first the babies were a bit stand-offish with each other, but after awhile they warmed up to each other. Then Lijah was eating Astrid's feet, Astrid was eating Lijah's head, and they were rolling around on the floor together. They managed to sit still together for a few shots.....

Bathtime!!!!



I decided to get a dishwashing tub to use as Lijah's bathtub because the big bathtub is too big, and the baby bathtub thing that we got wasn't all it was cracked up to be according to the picture on the box. I thought it would be a good idea to give him a bath in his new tub in his bedroom because it was all warm and cozy in there. Unfortunately, I had forgotten that when one is in the tub and sits back quickly, a mini tidal wave comes out the back of the tub. So Lijah's carpet got all wet, along with the many blankets and towels I tried to use to soak up all of the spilt water.....but Lijah had fun, and I guess that makes it all ok.....

On Saturday (December 2nd) I was planning on running errands - nothing too special, just running around that had to get done. Jason said that he wanted to go with me but had some things he had to do on the computer first and that we should leave at 12:30. Well, 12:30 rolled around and I was all ready to go and Jason kept stalling. First he had to 'use the bathroom' and then he 'lost' his inhaler. I was getting a bit impatient but then we were finally ready to walk out the door - and there was his mom! I yelled to Jason that his mom was here and he said "I know" and I was confused......Then he told me that we were going on a date and his mom was taking Lijah for the afternoon! I was so flustered by the surprise and that he planned all of it out that I got a bit teared up. So then we went to see The Nativity Story and out to eat at La Casita (a Mexican restaurant - and Jason normally would not set foot in a Mexican restaurant). It was such a nice surprise!
